Digital Marketing Manager
Me in 3 Creative. Friendly. Adaptable.
I started working for Adria Solutions in June 2020, right in the middle of the pandemic. After a few years of creating content as a Social Media Manager for an E-Commerce company, I needed a career change, a challenge to keep me interested in my job and valued as a professional. I was too comfortable in my role, losing interest and missing out on opportunities.
Believe it or not, I’d never considered working in recruitment until my previous employer laid me off! When I found out about the possibility of joining Adria’s marketing team, I knew I had found my challenge. With IT and Digital playing such an important role, IT and Digital Recruitment seemed like an interesting choice for a marketeer interested in all things digital. Never in a million times would I have imagined a role in the recruitment industry could be so much fun!
Having a supportive management team and great colleagues who welcome you as one of them felt amazing. Sometimes, you don’t realise how miserable you are in a job until you leave. It has been a learning curve, but I’ve had great mentors. I had to learn about the business, the role of a Recruitment Consultant, what exactly 360-degree recruitment is and what makes Adria Solutions different from every other recruitment company.
The most valuable thing I’ve learned while working for a recruitment consultancy is, precisely, that recruitment is a continuous learning experience. In my time at Adria, have challenged myself to think outside the box, first in social media, then as Marketing Manager, and find creative ways to break out of my comfort zone.
The work of our recruitment consultants at Adria Solutions positively changes the lives of others, which is my favourite thing about working in this industry. Adria helps businesses find the talent that leads their company strategy and helps them grow, and similarly, our work with candidates helps them progress in their careers and find their way.
The best advice I could give to someone wanting to work in recruitment is never to underestimate the power of networking! Whether you are a Recruitment Consultant or a Digital Marketer, talking to others, listening to their opinions, asking questions and engaging in conversations will help you learn, grow and stay informed of what’s happening.
What keeps me going on a difficult day is knowing that it will pass. We all have bad days, but a quick chat with a colleague, a short break to enjoy a cup of tea and a chocolate treat, or a walk outdoors can clear your mind and instantly upgrade your mood.
My long-term ambition is to keep learning new skills to complement my existing skillset, ideally seeing Adria grow as a business as I grow myself as a Digital Marketer. At the top of my bucket list is to lose the fear of speaking to a camera. The skill I would most like to learn is Digital Project Management.
My Hero My father is my hero. He quit college to support our family and worked two jobs to move from an Accountant’s Assistant to a Business Manager. He has never complained about the longer hours and hard work. He enjoys what he does, and he’s never afraid of adopting new technologies and tools, and he’s always open to networking.
