The month of November is dull for many people, but not for Adria. November is our birthday month! As Adria Solutions celebrates 19 years of success this November, we reflect on our journey from a local IT recruitment consultancy to a leading player in IT, Digital, and Marketing recruitment across the UK.

The month of November is dull for many people, but not for Adria. November is our birthday month! It’s hard to believe it’s already 19 years since Nick and Dave realised they wanted to become business partners, sharing some common values and the idea that another way of recruitment was possible, less pushy, more personal, and came together to create an IT recruitment consultancy and compete with the big names in the industry.

When Nick Derham and David Berwick founded Adria, Manchester wasn’t the technological hub it is now, but the North West of England was starting to show its full potential. At the time, there were many exciting opportunities for companies like Adria to play along with the globally known (and more serious) recruitment agencies.

From IT Recruitment to Digital Recruitment

When Adria was just “a baby”, our team of recruiters were always busy filling tech or sales roles. Soon, they realised the IT and the Digital worlds often go hand in hand and then Adria Solutions became an IT and Digital recruitment consultancy.

From Digital Recruitment to Marketing Recruitment

After Adria’s success recruiting for IT and digital roles, the natural step was to expand our services to Digital Marketing roles. Remember we already had experience recruiting for sales roles? Digital marketers must constantly adapt to new technologies and digital trends, just like the tech professionals Adria was already recruiting for. After struggling to find digital marketing professionals, our clients and partners welcomed a helping hand.

From the North West to the World

Nowadays, Adria is one of the leading IT, Digital and Marketing Recruitment consultancies in the North West, currently growing and expanding our services nationally and working with hundreds of clients all around the country, Europe, the USA and even as far as New Zealand.

At the front, vertical arrows of different colours and lengths to symbolise growth over a background of the City of London — Adria Solutions has expanded nationally. Today, it has an extensive network of clients and vast candidate databases in cities such as Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Sheffield and London.

It’s been so much fun! As business managers will surely appreciate, growing a business has its challenging times, especially during the economic downturn and the pandemic, which were extremely challenging times for most companies. Not only has Adria managed to stay afloat, but it has also thrived and grown.

We are lucky to have a fantastic team we can trust, and we’re sure we’ll keep learning, growing, and having fun together. It’s been an exciting journey; we’ve learned so much and had the pleasure of meeting great people and working with amazing clients, some of whom have become partners and friends.

In the spirit of maintaining the element of surprise, Adria Solutions has opted for a low-key celebration this year, reserving the festivities for the upcoming Christmas party and the monumental 20th-anniversary bash slated for next year.
